So, would it be worth buying a bluray burner drive? I think I saw on another post that someone else had tried to burn a dual layer disc and had the same problem (i.e. I get a message in VLC that it can't play the disc and see the log for details.

I mistakenly thought that my bluray drive would burn dual layer discs- now I know that I'm wrong. I used MakeMKV to link and they were playing ok. I had my system nicely set up to play bluray discs in VLC.
